“We were married February 6th, 2010 in Playa with the help of Caribbean Blue Weddings. My husband and I had 76 of our closest friends and family travel from all over the world to join us for the special day, and every single person- from the grandparents to the young cousin had a fantastic time! We wanted to give our guests the flexibility to stay where ever they wanted and not be bound to huge-all-inclusive resort just because we were getting married there. If you are planning your wedding and want to deal with experienced, professional and honest people, then you should seriously consider Caribbean Blue Weddings. My husband and I were going to get married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Playa Del Carmen but we were not satisfied with the level of quality and the flexibility of the resort for the wedding times and reception location, time, and set up. Therefore we cancelled the wedding at the resort and contacted Irene and Francesca at CBW. We planned a perfect wedding with them in two weeks!! Everything we asked for was accommodated and handled entirely by them. They have all the proper contacts in the wedding planning industry and can get you whatever you desire. The vendors they hire are reliable and very professional. They are present the entire time coordinating every movement which made us feel more relaxed. If you are nervous about planning a wedding (as we were) you should know that based on our experience, you can fully trust CBW to deliver the wedding of your dreams. After all, we made it happen in two weeks, and the emails were flying back and forth. There were absolutely no delays in getting responses with real answers back from Irene, the responses were almost instant.. She was truly a pleasure to deal with. Francesca and Natalia also did a fabulous job coordinating the ceremony (at the Palapa) and the reception at Negrosal. We met with Natalia and Francesca 2 days before the wedding and we visited the sites where the ceremony and reception would take place. We had some concerns about Negrosal in relation to the “musty” smell downstairs in the private area, but they assured me it would be taken care of, and it was! Negrosal had beautiful décor, and great service. It was intimate and modern which was perfect for our group of 33. The photographer impressed us the most, the results were incredible and delivered the very next day! Overall, you get what you pay for and we got a dream wedding that was flawless and memorable. If you are looking for a photographer for your upcoming Cancun, Playa, or Tulum wedding, , look no further! My husband and I were married in a destination beach wedding at Secrets Maroma Beach resort in Riviera Maya in October 2009. We had Dennis from Caribbean Blue Weddings do our photography and we couldn’t have been more excited and impressed with the results! We never felt like Dennis and his team were intrusive at our wedding. They blended right in and we barely realized we were there! Dennis worked with us to make sure we got the shots we wanted, but also suggested some we wouldn’t have thought of. Those turned out amazing as well. The prices are very reasonable and we received a very large amount of photos (in a CD format) as well as a wonderful CD of retouched pictures.

This day was a dream come true thanks to the endless help from Irene and Francesca at Caribbean Blue Weddings. It was truly a magical experience. As everyone says, it was the best wedding, best honeymoon, and best family vacation all wrapped into one. In fact, a suggestion was made to celebrate our anniversaries in Playa del Carmen.
There were a few glitches along the way, such as the swine flu, the fact that the first restaurant we chose to have our reception closed due to the declining economy, oh yes – and forgetting our birth certificates - but Irene and Francesca worked as hard as they could to make sure we had a beautiful, stress-free wedding. They took care of all of the details of the wedding – the setting, the flowers, the music, the officiate, and the delicious reception dinner at Zenzi’s Beach Club. I really don’t know what we would have done without them! Everything turned out better than we had imagined! Our wedding day was amazing! The location was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We really couldn’t imagine anything different; having our wedding on the beach with our families and closest friends in attendance seemed almost surreal! By having our wedding in Playa del Carmen we were able to spend time with our guests for longer than just our wedding day. Since people were coming from all over North America, this was the perfect choice to bring everyone together for a vacation and celebration. Thank you everyone for all of your help! If you are looking to have a wedding that is fun and relaxing for everyone involved, a destination wedding may be just the ticket. Getaways to beautiful locations have a special flavor that simply cannot be matched by a traditional wedding in your hometown. To make the most of your destination wedding, read on.
The key to having a truly great destination wedding is to get into the spirit of it. You know how when you vacation at a top notch resort on a scenic island, the staff conveys that “don’t worry, be happy” vibe? Well that is exactly the mood to aim for. In other words, even if you are normally a very detail oriented type A person, you will only be able to really enjoy your destination wedding by letting go a little (or a lot, depending on how tightly you are used to controlling things!). Don’t sweat the small stuff, and trust in the resort’s wedding coordinator to put together a beautiful event for you.
Since the location itself is part of the magic of a destination wedding, try to stay as long as possible. You will definitely want to arrive a few days in advance of your wedding so that you will have some time to unwind before the big day. Undoubtedly, you will also be glad to have a little time to go over the last minute details with the hotel staff (although remember, you are not going to sweat the small stuff!). A longer lead time will also allow you to spend some quality time with your closest family members before the rest of the guests arrive. And obviously, the longer the honeymoon, the better!
Something that will truly make your destination wedding a success is embracing the local culture. Carry a bouquet of big tropical flowers in bright colors, include seashells and faux coral in your centerpiece design, and serve fresh local fish for dinner, if it is available. Fresh tropical fruit and flowers make beautiful decorations for the wedding cake, and seem much more appropriate for a beach wedding than fussy (and costly) sugar flowers. Why not take advantage of all of the best aspects of your wedding location?
Don’t forget to embrace the relaxed island spirit for your wedding attire as well. A tea length organza wedding dress with large fabric flowers for decoration would be marvelous for a ceremony on the sand. Accent it with beach theme wedding jewelry, such as a crystal starfish pendant. Aim for a similar effect for your bridesmaids. Stick with shorter bridesmaid dresses in breezy fabrics and cheerful colors (no black!) and for their bridesmaid gifts, think about beach wedding jewelry similar to yours. Silver starfish pendants or bracelets would be fabulous souvenirs of your wedding for your friends to enjoy. Last but not least, learn about your destination before you go. Naturally you will choose a fabulous resort, but what else is there to see and do in the area? If you are being married in Playa del Carmen, schedule a trip to see the Mayan ruins, or take a sightseeing helicopter trip over Hawaii, or visit the jungle in Puerto Rico. Every place will have special and unique features worth seeing. Taking the time to really enjoy the entire location that you have chosen for your destination wedding will make the whole experience that much more memorable.

We had a wonderful wedding! When we began looking online for a wedding planner, Caribbean Blue Weddings stood out, and I am very glad we made the decision. We told Irene exactly what we wanted, and she sent us multiple options to help us decide. She made the process very easy. We wanted a semi private beach and the setting was beautiful! I sent a picture of my bouquet and it was just like I wanted and the set up was just like the pictures. Our wedding was at sunset and everything fell into place perfectly! The photographer was great! He kept us smiling and the pictures were beautiful! We had a small group of 9 and Irene suggested several restaurants for our reception. We chose La Casa del Agua and it was awesome. They blocked off an area in the restaurant for us, and they had great seafood!! The service and food were awesome. They even helped serve our wedding cake. Then, we got to walk down 5th Ave in Playa and celebrate more. Everything was perfect!! The setting, flowers, mariachi band, reception, photographer, photographs, hair, makeup, and even transportation were great! I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Irene and Francesca, What a fairytale wedding Joe and I had. It surpassed all of our expectations as well as most of our guests’. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first planning, everything through e-mail, but it was all perfect. My girlfriends and I had a great time getting our hair done at the salon. It was exactly as I wanted it. The flowers were gorgeous, the three piece trio excellent, the sparkling wine cold and refreshing, and the ceremony was amazing. Sharon truly gave us a ceremony that was representative of how we live our lives (filled with love, laughter, and surrounded by family and friends). The beach was absolutely beautiful, and the weather was perfect. Our pictures turned out amazing, especially the ones taken at the ruins. Thank you for being part of our dream come true. :After the initial excitement of the engagement had settled in it was quickly clear that we wanted to get married in Playa del Carmen - where the two of us first met. Initially we had serious concerns about handing over the task of planning our wedding to someone so far away, yet after getting in touch with Irene and Francesca from Caribbean Blue Weddings we knew we had found the right wedding planners! We were mainly in contact with Irene, she was highly professional, knew what questions to ask and when we needed reassurance. There was never a long wait for a response via email and Irene answered all of our many questions very patiently. Especially when the news of the swine flu outbreak hit the headlines it was a great relief to have someone in Playa to keep us updated. Initially we were quite worried and thoughts of cancelling the wedding crossed our minds, but after having been in touch with Irene on numerous occasions and following the situation on the news for several weeks we decided to go ahead as planned.
And we have not regretted our decision for one second! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, Irene and Francesca did an extraordinary job. The wedding location in Playacar, Sharon the minister, the beautiful flower arrangements, the Mexican trio, the champagne reception by the beach… everything exceeded our expectations! A huge thank you also to Doranna (hair stylist) and Olivia (make up), I was incredibly happy with their work! The photographer Alessandro did an outstanding job, he managed to make everyone smile and relax! The pictures are fantastic and everyone commented that they had never seen such an excellent wedding photographer! We were very impressed by the reception at Negrosal, the location and the food were superb! All of the guests greatly enjoyed the private Salsa lesson after the meal and the wedding cake that Irene organized for us was delicious as well as beautifully presented. Our wedding was Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much. I must admit, i was soooo very nervous about sending money to someone i did not know and in trusting her to plan my special day. And even more nervous about what kind of photographer we would end up with. Then there was the scary thought of someone,we did not know picking up JUST THE TWO of us in a van and driving us to a semi private beach was scary for me as a female.
But you did a WONDERFUL JOB and was such a SWEET LADY. And the photographer was EXCEPTIONAL and i was shocked when i learned that he was the photographer from all the Big billboards all over playa del carmen. We had a wonderful time and appreciate all you did for us and our small little wedding. “My husband and I are really thankful to Irene and Francesca. We were a bit worried how to organize this from Switzerland as we did not want our wedding to be at the hotel resort. Before contacting them, we had a vague idea of how we wanted our very simple wedding and they helped it not just shaping but also to come true.
